Hatch IT is partnering with JDSAT to hire a Data Engineer.
About the Role:
JDSAT, Inc. is seeking experienced data engineers to help design and build a data architecture to support advanced analytics services for federal clients. You should have experience in constructing enterprise-grade data ingestion solutions, preferably on cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services.
About the Company:

Candidates must be able to acquire a secret-level clearance and should be available on-site 2-3 times per week.
Responsibilities:
Design and build relational databases for data storage or processing.
Evaluate new data sources for compliance with the organization's quality standards and ease of integration.
Assess, analyze, and organize raw data.
Prepare data for use in simulation, optimization, or data science tools.
Merge information from diverse sources, conduct data validation/verification, and store the data in a way that allows users to logically join information across multiple domains.
Follow industry best practices across all appropriate levels of the technology stack, including the version control system, ETL processes, and the use of AWS cloud products.
Identify opportunities for new data acquisition.
Interact with source data in various forms, such as APIs, flat file extracts, direct database querying, etc.
Apply attention to detail to identify errors or data quality issues and communicate professionally with customers.
Serve as the intermediary between data owners and data consumers to understand business needs and objectives and aid data consumers in comprehending the art of the possible.
Design data auditing and data control processes to monitor the status and health of enterprise data systems.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Applied Maths, Physics, Statistics, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Ability to evaluate and profile raw data and combine it from multiple sources into a solitary, enterprise model.
Ability to work in a consulting role, constructing technology, and communicating with end-users and customers of various technical abilities.
Ability to create high-quality, professional documentation and communication materials.
Ability to build and deploy SQL code suitable for a team.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
Ability to build and deploy Python and R code suitable for a team.
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Proficiency in using cloud platforms to create secure and scalable data infrastructure.
Experience in constructing batch or streaming data ingestion pipelines.
