About the Position We are seeking an innovative Data Engineer to build and maintain significant components within our data architecture, focusing specifically on the data pipelines that power our products. The individual will work with our Data Engineering team, collaborating with Data Managers and Data Scientists to manage the continuous delivery of our key datasets for our analytical and product use cases. This individual must understand data requirements and is also responsible for continuously improving our data pipelines. Our Data Team is highly collaborative, friendly and hard working, and we are looking for team members who reflect these values. The Data Engineer will report to our Senior Data Engineer. What You’ll Do: You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines using tools and technologies such as Dagster and Airflow for orchestration, and Snowflake, AWS, and MongoDB for data stores. You will ensure the pipelines are scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant. You will be responsible for managing data from various sources, such as third-party data providers, collected data, or internally created data. Other duties include ensuring data is ingested efficiently and in a timely manner, transforming and cleansing raw data into a structured and usable format, implementing data quality checks and validation processes, optimizing data pipelines, and maintaining up-to-date documentation. You will also provide support for data-related issues and respond to ad-hoc data requests. What You Should Have: You should have an education and/or experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant field, a minimum of 3 years’ experience working with large scale databases/cloud databases using SQL and Python, strong organizational and analytical abilities, strong problem-solving skills, familiarity with Data Orchestration Tools (Dagster, Airflow), experience working flexibly within smaller teams, and practical knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC). What You Could Have: You could have familiarity with Voter File Data, experience with or interest in political data, and experience within a support team providing technical support to other data functions such as Data Scientists, Data Managers, etc. We welcome Data Engineers from all backgrounds and careers. Location and Compensation This is a full-time, salaried position with a comprehensive benefits package, based anywhere in the U.S. Salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $130,000, commensurate with experience.
