As a Data Scientist Intern, you will be responsible for analyzing complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business decisions related to the quality of Extreme's products. You will work closely with cross-functional Quality Engineering teams to develop and implement statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and data-driven solutions. Your work will contribute to the development of new engineering product testing methodologies and help improve business processes that will result in an outstanding customer user experience with Extreme's products. Responsibilities: - Analyze large, complex datasets using statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and define key engineering and product quality data requirements. - Develop and implement predictive models and algorithms to forecast future product quality. - Develop and implement predictive models to hypothesize time-to-market reductions for various engineering operations strategies. - Communicate and educate teams on the strengths and limitations of developed predictive models. - Interpret and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Continuously improve and optimize existing models and algorithms. - Ensure engineering operations data quality and integrity throughout development and product testing lifecycle. Qualifications: - Working on a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. - Strong programming skills in languages such as Python. - Proficiency in data manipulation, cleaning, and visualization. - Experience with statistical analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling. - Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. - Strong communication and collaboration abilities. - Attention to detail and ability to work independently. Preferred Qualifications: - Practical experience using open-source data analysis libraries such as numpy, panda, matplotlib, tensorflow, sklearn, and surprise. - Practical experience building data tables by pulling data from common databases. - Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP Extreme Networks, Inc.
