Job Description

lastminute.com is seeking a Data Lead for its Tech for Finance team based in Chiasso.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Automating the Finance teams’ processes (passive reconciliation, monthly closing, billing and credit note controls, etc.), acting as a Developer and collaborating with IT and Finance departments.
  • Implementing project management methodologies and developing with specialized tools aimed at ETL and reporting (like Talend Open Studio, TIBCO Spotfire, Gitlab, Rundeck, etc).
  • Defining tasks for team activities (data quality, data integration, data acquisition, data analysis, reporting) and directly developing them based on the needs and priorities of various stakeholders.
  • Identifying areas for improvement or inefficiencies impacting our systems and collaborating to develop and reengineer new IT processes and functionalities.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • A university degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics.
  • 5 years of application and software development experience.
  • familiarity with data mining techniques and ETL tools.
  • Experience with reporting tools (ex. Spotfire, QlikView).
  • Strong knowledge of MySQL, RDBMS, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to easily explain technical and analytical content intelligibly.
  • Fluency in English.

Desirable

  • 2+ years of experience with the ETL tool Talend Open Studio.
