We are looking for a Simulation Scientist to help design and optimize fulfillment network concepts and process improvement solutions using discrete event simulations for our World Wide Design Engineering Team.
Successful candidates will be visionary technical experts and natural self-starters who are driven to apply simulation and optimization tools to solve complex flow and buffer challenges during the development of the next generation of fulfillment solutions. The Simulation Scientist is expected to dive deep into complex problems and relentlessly drive towards innovative solutions, working with cross-functional teams. They should be comfortable interfacing and influencing various functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization. They will lead strategic modeling and simulation projects related to Digital Twin, optimization, and integrating machine learning into simulation models to drive process design decisions. We offer a need-based remote work option.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, implement, and deliver simulation data science solutions for significantly complex operational processes.
- Perform strategic modeling and simulation projects.
- Be an exemplary practitioner in the simulation data science discipline.
- Identify and tackle intrinsically hard process flow simulation problems.
- Deliver artifacts that set the standard in the organization for excellence.
- Be a pragmatic problem solver by applying judgment and simulation experience.
- Write effective white papers and documents.
- Participate in reviews of simulation data science solutions.
- Use advanced statistical/simulation tools and develop codes for data analysis, simulation, and modeling algorithms.
- Coordinate simulation efforts between internal teams and vendors.
- Deliver results according to project schedules and quality.
In this role, you influence the scientific strategy, support decision-making, build consensus, and assist leaders in making trade-offs.

Basic Qualifications:
- PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of experience in a quantitative field.
- Experience investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles to business problems.
- Experience analyzing both experimental and observational data sets.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of R, MATLAB, Python or similar scripting language.
- Experience with agile development.
- Experience building web-based dashboards.

Our compensation reflects the labor cost across several US markets. The base pay ranges from $124,100/year in our lowest market up to $212,800/year in our highest market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location, and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We provide various forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
