We are seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to assist our rapidly expanding team in Bellevue, WA, or Missoula, MT. This role will involve building data products for the consumer and modelling data for internal and external stakeholders. You will create models for product, machine learning, and customer use cases, unlocking value across all teams at Submittable. This is a full-time position that reports to the Engineering Manager for the Data Team. As a Senior Analytics Engineer, your responsibilities will include: - Working with team members to gather business requirements, define successful analytics outcomes, and design data models - Owning one or more stakeholder relationships in the Product, Professional Services, or Data Science business functions - Leading the interdisciplinary team spanning data projects from conception to completion and beyond - Developing highly efficient, scalable, and extendable warehouse models to support analytics of product data - Acting as the subject matter expert and spokesperson for data model, demonstrated by the ability to quickly and correctly answer questions - Designing, developing, and extending dbt code to provide clean data, ready for analysis - Approving data model changes as a reviewer and code owner for specific database and data model schemas - Supporting ELT/ETL pipelines using Kafka and Fivetran, closely collaborating with the infrastructure team Skills & Experience We Hope You Bring: - 6+ years in the Data space as an analyst, engineer, scientist, or equivalent - 4+ years working with a large-scale (1B+ Rows) Data Warehouse, preferably in a cloud environment - 2+ years maintaining the same data model system over time, adapting the model to meet new business needs - Experienced in leading 4 or more analytics projects from start to operationalization - Experienced in designing and distributing Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) and reference SQL scripts to increase data expertise and adoption - Proven ability to concisely communicate complex business processes, technical requirements, and suggestions - Significant experience in 2 or more data subject areas (marketing, sales, finance, product, etc.) - Experience working with multiple commercial data warehouses, ETL tools, and data visualization tools - Proficiency in SQL, Snowflake, dbt, Python, Kafka, and Git - Experience with Tableau, PowerBI, or Looker is beneficial - Comfortable in a highly agile, intensely iterative environment - A love of learning - Ability to explain complicated technical information to non-technical staff The annual salary for this position ranges from $150,000-$190,000, depending on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; the salary range may differ for candidates in other locations. Position is located in Bellevue, WA, or Missoula, MT, following a hybrid work model. Employees are expected to be able to work from one of our offices twice a week or as needed by the team.
