About the Data & Analytics Department

You will be part of the Vattenfall BtC (Business to Consumer) Data & Analytics department, which develops data-based solutions for our customers and customer processes. The department is divided into three teams for different business domains; where data experts and business experts work closely together to realise valuable data science solutions. Each Data & Analytics domain team consists of an Analytics Translator, Analytics Engineers, and Data Scientists, and is supported by Data & Machine Learning Engineers from IT.

We attach value to joint development in ways of working and sharing best practices. This is facilitated in our data science authority and data foundation authority. As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you contribute significantly to the Data Foundation authority.

Your role

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you know how to translate the wishes of our stakeholders into the right insights from data. You are familiar with the available data sources on our platform and have proactive ideas for additional sources that would serve us better. Together with relevant stakeholders you align and create the necessary data definitions. You are an expert in data modelling. You know the pros and cons of alternative solutions and look for the best approach in every situation. You create relevant datasets and dashboards and coach users on how to use them. You are an active member of the data foundation authority; constantly looking for ways to elevate our data products. This can be done for example by aligning with your colleagues on improved standards, adding new functionalities for end-users or sharing new knowledge with all analytics engineers. You bring your enthusiasm for data to the organisation. In this role, you get the chance to work with innovative technologies and make an impact!

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Translate the wishes of stakeholders into clear requirements for data products.
  • Create actionable insights for different stakeholders.
  • Develop datasets and dashboards that enable users to answer their questions.
  • Explain in a simple way how datasets and dashboards can be interpreted and used by different stakeholders.
  • Convey enthusiasm for data to inspire and engage the organization.
  • Utilize data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for business growth.
  • Collaborate with the team to improve the organisation's data model and enhance data products.
  • Stay up-to-date with innovative technologies in data analysis and use them to generate impact.
  • Play a crucial role in the development and implementation of data solutions for Vattenfall BtC.

Job Requirements

Your profile

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you are a strong communicator and enthusiastic colleague with a passion for data. You feel comfortable in a wide stakeholder field. You are analytical, result-oriented and enjoy working in an agile team. In addition, you are proactively looking for new solutions and standards to work with.

Besides, you meet the following criteria:

  • A completed HBO/WO education.
  • At least 7 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Several years of experience in an environment with large amounts of data.
  • Very strong Transact-SQL skills.
  • Experienced professional in Data Modeling and Dimensional Modeling.
  • Strong reporting skills with Microsoft Power BI or similar tools.
  • Used to working with CICD, testing and code reviews.
  • Experience with the Agile way of working - Scrum.
  • Accustomed to working on large projects or with a wide stakeholder field.
