The Opportunity

Data is at the heart of every decision we make. Our Data & Analytics team enables Onfido to access insights and drive key decisions towards our success. As an Analytics Engineer, you will build data products for a user community of over 500 people: the entire company, ranging from operational analysts to C-level management, utilizes our self-service analytics platform to answer pressing queries. Using DBT to transform our data, Snowflake to process and store it, and Looker to make this data accessible to end users, you will work on complex and unprecedented problems, delivering insights from unique datasets.

Role Responsibilities

  • You will facilitate data-driven decisions by making essential data from various sources readily available on the self-service analytics platform. You will own the end-to-end creation of data products by arranging/implementing ELT jobs and creating reports.
  • You will be responsible for the quality, performance, and scalability of the self-service analytics platform—writing quality code, implementing tests and automating workflows where possible.
  • You will serve as a trusted partner for a diverse group of stakeholders including Product Managers, Commercial and Operational Analysts, and Customer Success/Sales Managers, proposing and implementing customized analytics solutions to meet their unique business or technical challenges.
  • You will support and educate a diverse user group on how to make use of Onfido’s tools and data assets, allowing for self-serve analytics.

Role Requirements:

  • You have substantial experience working with data analytics.
  • You have advanced knowledge of SQL and understand the difference between working SQL and performant SQL.
  • You have robust data visualisation skills and can narrate data stories using BI tools such as Tableau or Looker.
  • You demonstrate exceptional communication skills, capable of simplifying complex technical issues for non-technical audiences.
  • You can work with a variety of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • You are proactive and take the initiative in identifying opportunities and developing solutions to challenges.
  • Prior experience using Python, Git, DBT, Looker, Snowflake/Redshift/Big Query is a plus.
