We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Data & Analytics Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Affinidi Elements team. In this position, you will collaborate with international peers in teams that specialize in the design, development, testing, implementation, and integration of data-centered products and services, designed for both developers and consumers. As a Data & Analytics Engineer, your responsibility will be the development, prototyping, and implementation of data layers that power the next generation of data and identity products from Affinidi. Your expertise in designing, architecting, and creating quality systems will be supplemented with your practical coding, performance testing, and integration experience. This roles reports directly to the Director of Engineering.

- Developing, implementing, and maintaining world-class data/analytics pipelines and systems as part of the fundamental Affinidi Elements product offering
- Prototyping, programming, and aiding in the launch of the next generation of Affinidi Elements products that lets developers and consumers access data, services, and data models seamlessly and securely
- Constructing a scalable web services architecture that supports privacy-preserving data access, data cataloging, search and discovery, and data transformation
- Being responsible for the development of innovative, unconventional approaches for knowledge discovery including the use of AI/ML
- Developing features and improvements to the broader Affinidi Elements product in a secure, thoroughly-tested, and efficient way, mainly using Typescript, Python, R, Rust
- Refining and optimizing the implemented data processing methods to produce more accurate results or eliminate inefficiencies or enhance the service offering
- Identifying and resolving technical data and analytics-related issues.
- Driving continuous improvement of the Affinidi Elements data and analytics solutions and systems for protection against evolving threats and increased efficiency
- Analyzing and interpreting highly complex data to obtain actionable recommendations
- Collaborating with Product Management and other stakeholders within Engineering to uphold high standards for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment
- Resolving technical issues with large scope and complexity while advocating for enhancements to product quality, security, and performance
- Crafting code that complies with our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for high-volume systems environment. Upholding and advocating for these standards through code review.
- Comfortably managing moderate to highly complex features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Collaborate with the team on larger projects.
- Mentoring other engineers, contributing to team and organizational improvements in processes and tooling
You will be a perfect fit if you:
- Have 10+ years of overall professional experience
- Have 3-5 years of experience in database development with tools such as data mining, OLAP, , data modeling, complex SQL queries, performance tuning, and Postgres database development (DDL, DML, stored procedures) - (a must-have)
- Have extensive expertise in AWS cloud computing and native databases, particularly Redshift, as well as the various data processing tools in the AWS platform - (a must-have)
- Can demonstrate your hands-on experience building a data/analytics pipeline from scratch, as well as hands-on experience working with data to power AI/ML training and inference
- Are experienced in troubleshooting and optimizing performance issues, are capable of both diagnosing and preventing such issues, and are eager to share your knowledge and scale through others
- Relish working in a fast-paced startup environment where you can be autonomous and experimental, collaborate with a truly global team, and can work up and down the stack
- Possess strong technical documentation skills, including the C4 Model and Architectural Decision Records
- Are familiar with design patterns and have practical experience in developing and deploying microservices in the cloud, and have a proven track-record of doing so
- Care about privacy by design, security, testing, high-performance systems, mentoring others, and have a tendency towards clear communication, inclusivity and visibility
