Technology Manager, Big Data

The Role

At Kaizen, we operate in verticals, which represent our connectivity with our customers, and how we establish sustainable growth and seamless entertainment experiences. Each vertical (Sportsbook, Gaming, Account & Services, Rewards & Comms), as well as our core technology areas (Platform and International Expansion), consists of Technology and Product teams, while Site Reliability, Infrastructure, and Data & AI are strictly Technology teams.

The Technology Manager works closely with the Head of Technology and leads a segment of the technology function of the vertical. He/she ensure that delivery, performance, and quality standards are met from both the team and product perspectives in a sustainable way.

Responsibilities

• Lead three or more data/reporting teams of roughly 20-35 staff, set performance goals, and ensure achievement of Objectives & Key Results (OKRs).
• Oversee the roadmap, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with peers and key stakeholders from differing product lines to assure high delivery, quality and performance standards, flag potential hindrances, and initiate process improvements.
• Facilitate regular information sharing between all teams under his/her supervision and across the verticals.
• Establish and maintain best practices for data governance, quality, security, and privacy in line with industry standards and legislative mandates.
• Provide scalable, secure, and cost-effective data processing, storage, and reporting solutions to facilitate data-driven decision-making across the organization.
• Stay informed about the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to maintain the company’s competitive edge and innovative stance.
• Promote continuous employee growth while ensuring high employee retention and engagement levels.
• Staff the team by ranking needs, identifying potential risks, and actively participating in the hiring process.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and opportunities for career development for team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience in a comparable role leading data/reporting teams.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, negotiation and decision-making.
• Strong leadership abilities.
• Excellent written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Outstanding planning and organizational skills.
