About the Role At DoorDash, our Data Scientists have the opportunity to delve into a wealth of delivery data to enhance company-wide Machine Learning procedures such as Search & Recommendations, Assignment of Delivery Personnel, Estimation Time of Arrival Prediction, and Delivery Personnel Capacity Planning. You will join a small team to develop systems that foster efficient machine learning on a large scale. This is a flexible opportunity available in San Francisco, Sunnyvale, Seattle, or New York. You’re excited about this opportunity because you will... - Develop a world-class Machine Learning platform where models are created, trained, and deployed smoothly - Cooperate closely with Data Scientists and Product Engineers to develop the Machine Learning platform based on their use cases - Aid in the creation of robust and adaptable pipelines that can promptly adapt to accommodate new technologies, techniques and modeling methods - Work on infrastructure designs and solutions to store trillions of feature values and enable hundreds of billions of predictions per day - Assist in designing strategies for the centralized machine learning platform that drives all of DoorDash's business - Enhance the dependability, scalability, and observability of our training and inference infrastructure. We’re excited about you because... - You hold a B.S., M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or equivalent - You have exceptionally strong knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals and Object-Oriented Programming languages - You have over 5 years of industry experience in software engineering - You're keen about Large Language Models (LLM’s) - You have previous experience building machine learning systems in a production environment - You have also worked with machine learning models, developing and deploying your own models - You have a good understanding of Machine Learning infrastructure - You possess Systems Engineering skills and have built substantial infrastructure in a cloud computing environment - You have managed and completed one or more projects from start to finish - You have a good understanding of Python machine learning libraries like Pandas and deep learning frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow Nice To Haves - Experience with challenges in real-time computing - Experience with large scale distributed systems, data processing pipelines and machine learning infrastructure - Good understanding of Machine Learning infrastructure - Familiar with Spark, MLLib, Databricks,MLFlow, Apache Airflow, Dagster and similar related technologies - You've dealt with large language models like GPT, LLAMA, BERT, or Transformer-based architectures - You have worked in a cloud based environment such as AWS - You have led and participated in benchmarking and performance tuning About DoorDash Our mission at DoorDash is to empower local economies. The base salary range for this position is specific to its location. Compensation in other regions may vary. Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.
