About the Team
The Customer Insights team collaborates with various departments across the student journey, amassing, consolidating, and analyzing performance, customer feedback, and external data sets. Our primary goal is delivering reliable, actionable, and real-time insights to elevate the student experience and outcomes.

About the Role
You'll solve customer-oriented problems by working with intricate customer datasets including enrolments, applications, web behaviors, transcripts, customer feedback, and external data. Utilizing your deep technical expertise, you will generate valuable insights, identify chances to enrich student experiences and create value for our marketplace partners.

A Typical Day for You Might Look Like This

  • Cooperating with teams across the business, translating their business problems into data problems, and developing data science solutions.
  • Identifying new data sources, ingesting, and connecting them to our existing data sets for analysis.
  • Using the latest technologies to synthesize large amounts of data into organized statistical analysis, actionable insights, and recommendations.
  • Creating and effectively conversing data stories with stakeholders. Generating visualizations and reports to present findings and concepts in a manner that's widely understood and trusted.
  • Fostering your curiosity and delving into new technologies, services, models within our AWS-centric stack.
  • Cooperating with your team, building, and sharing your knowledge in Python, SQL, ML, and AI.

How You Will Excel in This Role

  • Proven experience in data science or a similar role.
  • A tertiary degree in statistics, mathematics or a related field.
  • Advanced coding skills with proficiency in SQL, Python, R, statistics, and data mining techniques.
  • Exceptional storytelling ability, able to build a narrative and effectively explain problems/findings to various audiences using visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing analytics infrastructure, including integration tools like Azure Synapse Analytics or AWS Glue.
  • Commercially minded thinking paired with creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong grip of facts, ability to link ideas, and curiosity about upcoming trends.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable in ambiguous situations.
  • Experience with varied analytics types, including descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
  • Familiarity with data lakes, data warehouses, data pipelines, and business intelligence solutions.
  • A sense of ownership and a consulting approach to business partnership.
