We are in search of a Data Scientist to assist our Risk Operations and Strategy team. In this role, you will be expected to collaborate in the identification and assessment of new risk strategies and rules, develop data science models to broaden strategies beyond rules, and foster innovation in risk management. We are on the lookout for a person who enjoys tackling intricate analytical solutions with the initiative, problem-solving skills, and curiosity necessary to discover accurate and actionable insights. As part of the data science and analytics team, you will also work closely with other data scientists, analysts, analytics engineers, and data engineers to work on key projects aimed at advancing our business.

What you will be doing:
- Conduct exploratory data analysis, establish robust reporting, and assist in rule generation and evaluation for the risk strategy and operations team.
- Create visualizations and insights in tools such as Python and Tableau to support ongoing monitoring and performance analysis of the risk team.
- Develop machine learning and statistical models to create more predictive risk prevention strategies and collaborate closely with Machine Learning Engineers to ensure that these models reach production.
- Formulate descriptive and diagnostic analytics that aid the overall risk mission.
- Offer direct support to the risk strategy team in brainstorming and the overall strategic vision for risk strategy.
- Develop automation and tools to enhance the efficiency of risk data operations.
- Explore new data sets and identify errors, inconsistencies, or duplicates.
- Support risk analysis, strategy, and reporting for new product launches.
- Produce all needed documentation for all projects using standard templates and ensure documentation is kept up to date on any existing report changes and support the training and roll-out of new tools.
- Communicate - highlight the importance of patterns in the data, and suggest solutions (Utilize your visual, oral, and written communication skills to deliver solutions).
What you should bring:
- You have over 4 years' experience in Data Science or Analytics, with excellent analytical instincts and the ability to gain insights from large amounts of data.
- You have practical experience with SQL, and possess superior skills enabling you to fluently extract data from multiple sources for analysis and visualization.
- You've worked with enterprise data warehousing, preferably with Snowflake or other cloud-based solutions, and are familiar with modeling and /ELT best practices.
- You have solid experience in Python programming and working in Data Science environments such as Databricks.
- You have a strong understanding of Machine Learning model building and deployment.
- Prior experience with risk mitigation and analysis is highly desirable.
- You have excellent data visualization and communication skills, preferably across multiple tools ranging from coding to dashboarding tools like Tableau.
- You are entrepreneurial and demonstrate leadership potential, readily identifying and filling gaps where needed.
- You have insatiable curiosity about data and a proven track record of leveraging analytics to produce a significant impact on business.
- Working cross-functionally is second nature to you. You excel in environments where you must bring various disciplines and perspectives together, as well as manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- You're action-oriented. You know how to get things done and find alternatives when the team encounters obstacles. You anticipate and plan for potential major issues.
