Job Description

Esure has an available full-time, permanent position to join our Fraud team as a Fraud Data Analyst!

As a Fraud Data Analyst, your role will involve designing and implementing high-quality financial crime reports to improve system-wide fraud operations. You will suggest strategies for enhancements and identify chances to reduce financial loss.

What will my role involve?

  • The Data Analyst / Senior Data Analyst position is a critical role in the Enterprise Fraud Department at esure. The responsibilities include designing, technically implementing, maintaining, and regularly delivering core operational activity information for the department and various other fraud handling teams.
  • Promote the identification and production of new trend analysis and business risk assessments to guide counter fraud strategies and operational methods.
  • Strong data analysis skills will be crucial, using various in-house tools (currently including Excel, Tableau, and SAS), but we're also looking to adopt new analytical tools. Although many of the systems we use are SQL-based, Python usage is growing within the company and incorporating it into Financial Crime is important.
  • The systems to be used and maintained range from fraud detection tools, device transaction capture, document mining to other internal programs. This role involves the analysis of data from these systems and the development and maintenance of their capabilities – this includes work on rules-based systems, in addition to analysis
  • While an understanding of insurance and fraud might not be essential, it would obviously benefit the individual's performance in this role.
  • The role includes liaising with numerous other departments and maintaining relationships with external suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Advanced MS Excel knowledge
  • Advanced SQL knowledge
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting
  • Proven history of delivering high-quality data analysis and reporting

  • Technical knowledge of general insurance across underwriting and claims and the metrics used by other business units including Underwriting, Pricing, Operations, and Claims
