Wolt is a tech firm that simplifies the process of discovering and ordering from top-quality restaurants, grocery stores, and other local businesses for delivery to your home or office. Wolt is more than just a delivery app – it's a tech enterprise constructing a commerce platform to seamlessly unite our millions of customers with thousands of merchant and courier partners in real-time across 23 countries and over 250 cities. Our apps (iOS and Android) hold the industry’s highest ratings, largely thanks to our customer-first mindset, reflected in the way we craft products and manage operations. In June 2022, we joined forces with DoorDash. Together, we have a presence in 27 countries, 23 of which operate under the Wolt brand and app. Wolt and DoorDash continue largely independently, with Wolt’s name, brand, product, technology, and team in place.

A Snapshot of Data Analytics at Wolt:
Primarily, data analysts strive to derive actionable insights from all available data that supports decision-making in the teams they work with. In essence, data analysts are expected to serve as unbiased advisors, basing their findings and recommendations on data and reliable data analysis techniques.
At Wolt, data analysts work embedded within a team focusing on a specific domain at a time. They participate in decision-making and work closely with areas of operation such as product development, marketing, and operations.
As a Data Analyst at Wolt, your responsibilities include:
• Taking charge of data analytics within one of the Consumer Group’s teams (AdTech or New Verticals).
• Empowering junior data analysts and mentoring them to tackle complex data analysis challenges.
• Driving insights that help our business and product teams understand Wolt's marketplace dynamics and anticipate long-term trends.
• Contributing to product development by offering impactful recommendations, using statistical techniques in Python, R, or similar.
Frequently Asked Questions About the role:
• Will I have to build dashboards? While you can opt for Python/R notebooks and presentations only for deep dives and ad-hoc tasks, our Looker platform is currently the most convenient way to enable self-service capabilities for recurring insights and analysis for a wider Wolt audience. We believe traditional dashboards are excellent for monitoring our business, can automate data visualization work for data analysts, and inspire new hypotheses or questions.
• Will I spend the majority of my time on data plumbing/wrangling? At Wolt, our Analytics Teams comprise Data Analysts and BI Developers. BI Developers ensure relevant data is gathered and made accessible in a scalable and trustworthy manner for the Data Analysts. This arrangement allows Data Analysts to work more efficiently within the cross-functional Operations and Product teams, focus on genuine data analysis, and drive Wolt to be truly data-informed through exploratory and evaluative analytics.
• I want to use machine learning methods in my work. Should I follow the data science path? Many Wolt data analysts utilize ML methods in their work. The principal difference between a model created by a data scientist and a data analyst is the audience, intent, and scale of the model. A data analyst's model should support product development and stakeholders' decision-making as insights that people can discuss. In contrast, a data scientist's model is anticipated to be deployed and make millions of decisions as part of our product (like personalization or time estimates in our consumer app). If ML models assist you in generating insights, then the data analyst path is definitely fine for you.
