Job Description Our Team Visa Research is an initiative within the company aiming to enhance technology research capabilities globally. We undertake applied and fundamental research while interacting with the company's technology and product divisions, business partners, academics, and governments to investigate and create technologies critical to the payment industry's future. At present, we are committed to building research teams in vital areas such as Data Analytics, Security, Future of Payment (Blockchain), and Artificial Intelligence. We are seeking exceptional researchers and engineers of all experience levels to join our expanding team! Artificial Intelligence The Data Analytics team's mission is to unearth the concealed value within our extensive, high-quality financial data and decipher transaction language to foster innovation in the payment industry and beyond. We undertake applied research in machine learning and related fields to offer unique insights and capabilities to our partners and clients, aiding their business growth. We explore fields like deep learning applications in financial data, supervised and unsupervised representation learning, predictive modeling for fraud and risk management, customer behavior modeling, recommendation systems, scalable machine learning systems, privacy-preserving data analytics, and more. Security Visa Research aims to enable policy-enforced, comprehensive protection for data at rest, in transit, and during computation for all payment scenarios. We achieve this by conducting fundamental and applied research in three areas: - Advancements in Cryptography - Distributed and Endpoint Systems Security - Secure Data Acquisition and Analysis Blockchain Our Blockchain research emphasizes understanding the fundamentals of cryptocurrencies and Blockchain technology. We probe ways to advance Blockchain technology science and facilitate real-world payment discoveries. We cooperate with top universities and leading Blockchain researchers worldwide to develop technologies that hold the potential to revolutionize the finance industry in the coming years. Qualifications Basic Qualifications - Students pursuing a Ph.D. with a graduation date in December 2024 or later - Excellent communication abilities, specifically, the lack of repeated grammatical or typographical errors. Clear and concise written and spoken communication skills that showcase professional judgment. Preferred Qualifications - AI/Data Analytics: Proficiency with object-oriented programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, and Lua. - Experience with large-scale data processing using Hadoop and MapReduce. - Research experience in Machine Learning and Deep Learning - Excellent verbal, written communication skills, and willingness to collaborate. - Demonstrated ability to think creatively and innovate. - Ability to face and resolve challenges proactively. - Strong collaborative abilities. - Highly motivated, resourceful, and results-oriented. - Good team player displaying excellent interpersonal skills. - Good analytical and problem-solving skills. - Demonstrated leadership skills in dealing with ambiguity. Additional Information FOR U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a candidate entering this role is $46/hr to $52/hr USD, which may also include potential sales incentive payments. The salary may vary based on job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This position may also be eligible for bonuses and equity incentives. Work Hours: The hours vary according to the department's needs. Travel Requirements: This position requires 5-10% travel time.
