Our main objective is to encourage and boost the use of data in the company through innovative approaches and implementing robust resources like operational and analytical databases, queue systems, business intelligence tools, and data science technology. The Opportunity

We are looking for motivated and flexible data scientists keen on taking the chance to work on some of the most challenging productive machine learning and big data platforms globally, processing approximately 600 billion events daily and making about 5 billion predictions.

As part of the Data Science and Machine Learning (AI/ML) team, you will confront real-world issues such as: dynamic pricing, real-time prediction of customer intentions, ranking search results to maximize lifetime value, classification and deep learning content and personalization signals from unstructured data such as images and text, making personalized recommendations, innovating algorithm-endorsed promotions and products for supply partners, discovering insights from big data, and revolutionizing user experience. To handle these challenges, you will have the chance to work on one of the world's largest machine learning infrastructures, employing many GPUs operating concurrently, over 30,000 CPU cores, and 150 TB of memory.

In This Role, You’ll Get to

  • Design, code, experiment and roll out models and algorithms to optimize customer experience, supply side value, business results, and infrastructure readiness.
  • Mine a vast amount of data from hundreds of millions of customers and over 600 million daily user-generated events, supplier and pricing data and identify actionable insights to drive improvements and innovation.
  • Collaborate with developers and various business owners to deliver daily results with the highest quality.
  • Research, discover and implement new notions that can create a difference.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • At least four years of hands-on data science experience.
  • Outstanding understanding of AI/ML/Deep Learning and Statistics, along with coding skills using related open source libraries and frameworks.
  • Significant proficiency in and languages such as Python, and/or Scala.
  • Capable of leading, working independently as well as playing a key role in a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for a multicultural work setting.

It’s Great if You Have

  • A PhD or MSc in Computer Science / Operations Research / Statistics or other quantitative fields
  • Experience in Natural Language Processing, image processing and/or recommendation systems
  • Hands-on experience in data engineering, working with big data frameworks like Spark/Hadoop
  • Experience in data science for e-commerce and/or OTA
