Senior Technical Applications Support Engineer at Oracle

Join our dynamic Support organization and become a key player in delivering post-sales development, support, and solutions to Oracle customers. As an advocate within Oracle, you will address customer needs by resolving post-sales technical issues, performing technical and application analysis, and developing fixes within application and infrastructure layers.

About the Role

As a Senior Technical Applications Support Engineer, you will provide strategic technical support to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. Your role will involve analyzing technical issues, debugging software programs for commercial or end-user applications, and occasionally creating or modifying code.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop proactive monitoring systems such as automation, sensors, log parser tools, scripting, and analyzers to detect and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with Product Strategy teams to implement product enhancements and review customer extensions.
• Enhance self-service applications and improve customer experience by adopting Shift-Left Industry practices and providing CAPA/RCA (Corrective Preventive Action, Root Cause Analysis).
• Access source code to triage issues to the code level and write data fixes (EM payloads and data fix scripts).
• Build support integration environments and work on proof of concepts (POC) for integration, strengthening the support model between teams.
• Pre-defect reviewer to assist other engineers in resolving issues independently or validating and defining issues accurately before engaging Development.

Technical Skills

Candidates should possess the following technical skills:

• Strong understanding of data structures and ER Diagrams.
• Hands-on programming/scripting experience in Python, R, Java, Groovy, Unix Shell Scripts. Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, React.js, Oracle JET, Oracle RDBMS and frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of networks, internet protocols, database configuration, server configuration, and SQL tuning.
• Experience in developing REST/SOAP Services and Payload creation. Familiarity with ADF and BI Analytics is desired.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with core/application products.
• B.S in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or Chemistry with a 3.0 GPA, OR proven professional/technical experience.
• Proven experience building and/or fixing enterprise business applications.
• Exceptional diagnostic and fixing skills using industry-standard tools and techniques.
• Extensive experience in monitoring, tuning, and optimizing complex applications to meet customer expectations.
• Ability to train junior team members on new products and technologies.
