In line with our growth, following the acquisition of CTRL-labs, we are looking for experienced AI Research Scientists to enhance our pioneering neuromotor interface technologies, which are set to revolutionize interaction within virtual and augmented realities.

Role Overview: AI Research Scientist, Neuromotor Interfaces, ML & Signal Processing

As an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will contribute to exploring the fascinating landscape of human neuromotor signals (such as electromyography - EMG). This role involves developing advanced machine learning and signal processing models, collaborating with HCI and engineering teams to transform scientific insights into innovative technologies and user experiences. This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of creating intuitive ways by which humans interact with technology, genuinely enhancing user intent and action through our neural interface technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop state-of-the-art ML and signal processing models to enhance the capabilities of neuromotor interfaces.
  • Work closely with engineering and HCI teams to integrate scientific advancements into practical applications and new user experiences.
  • Utilize quantitative research methods to drive and refine our research directions.
  • Create and implement research-grade code in developing research prototypes.
  • Guide the technical direction for project teams comprising 2-3 researchers and engineers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD in fields such as Deep Learning, AI, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Robotics, or related areas.
  • Demonstrable software engineering experience in scientific computing and machine learning libraries like SciPy, PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.
  • Strong foundation in quantitative methods and a rapid acquisition of new technical skills.
  • Eligibility to obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain it throughout the tenure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or substantial equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Over 5 years of independent research design, execution, and interpretation.
  • Prior leadership experience in technical projects.
  • Proven ability to translate machine learning research into practical applications.
  • Experience working across disciplines and cultures on high-dimensional time series modeling and real-time signal processing.
  • Proficiency in developing end-to-end ML pipelines.

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $177,000/year to $251,000/year, plus bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits—specific compensation depends on skills, qualifications, and location.
