AI/MLOps Platform Manager Job Opportunity at Sherwin-Williams
The AI/MLOps Platform Manager is an integral member of the Digital Technology leadership team, ensuring the delivery of stable, secure, and scalable data solutions. This role meets the technical and business needs of data engineers, analysts, architects, and consumers enterprise-wide.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Collaborate with IT Leadership, engineers, and architects to create and execute a shared vision and roadmap for Data Technology platforms.
- Align priorities with Data Technology partners to remove blockers to team velocity.
- Engage with clients, peers, and decision-makers to understand goals and resolve conflicts.
- Ensure strategies and plans align with organizational objectives; provide visibility to these plans.
- Oversee team goals and ensure staff depth meets business needs.
- Champion change within the organization.
Acquisition and Deployment
- Identify staffing needs and skill requirements within teams.
- Recruit, retain, and allocate resources based on project needs.
- Provide status updates to stakeholders upon request and facilitate meetings with follow-up action items.
- Track and escalate risks and issues, developing business case justifications as needed.
Operational Management
- Communicate and support decision-making for stakeholders.
- Delegate, empower, and motivate staff to achieve objectives and complete tasks effectively.
- Develop and maintain individualized development plans, including training, skills assessment, career planning, and goal planning.
- Manage staffing, performance, resource management, and provide strategic direction to the team.
- Monitor and evaluate performance, providing feedback and mentoring to ensure goals are met.
- Support a 24x7 global support model for critical production environments as required.
Non-essential Functions
- Assist with projects to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Attend business and IT staff meetings, representing the team as needed.
- Present to management, clients, and peers, and share knowledge with other teams.
- Oversee hiring activities and comply with equal employment opportunity policies.
- Minor travel may be required (domestic and international) and work hours may extend beyond the standard 7.5-hour workday.
Qualifications
Formal Education & Certification
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge & Experience
- 12+ years of IT and/or business experience.
- 6+ years managing a team of direct reports.
- 4+ years in roles delivering and supporting scalable and secure technical solutions.
- 2+ years experience with MLOps, CI/CD, DevOps, or automation tools like Jenkins, Git, Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
- Understanding of cloud and containerization technologies (Azure, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of cyber security concepts including IAM, network security, and zero-trust architectures.
- Good business communication, leadership, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Experience with enterprise data tools like Snowflake, MicroStrategy, Informatica, Fivetran, Business Objects, Tableau, Dataiku.
- Experience with Agile project methodology.
- Hands-on experience with a public cloud platform.
- ITIL, Cloud, or PMP Certification.
