Amazon Robotics offers internship, co-op, and full-time opportunities based out of the Greater Boston Area in our two state-of-the-art facilities in Westborough, MA and North Reading, MA. Both campuses are a unique opportunity to directly access robotics testing labs and manufacturing facilities.
Amazon Robotics (AR) is seeking a motivated business intelligence engineer co-op to analyze data sets, construct dashboards, and deliver business reports focused on the performance of AR Sortation Solutions. A successful co-op candidate will be able to identify the right datasets to solve problems and collaborate with experts to delve deeply into the root cause of concerns. Although we don't expect proficiency in all areas, successful team members are willing to learn new skills and are effective in communication and influencing decision-makers at all levels. Candidates should have a background in business analytics, data science, data visualization, and/or data engineering. Amazon Robotics’ culture encourages innovation and expects co-ops to take on a vast amount of ownership in solving complicated problems.
The Amazon Robotics Sortation Analytics team mines insights from extensive and varied robotic data to help our engineering teams understand the operation of their technologies across Amazon’s network of warehouses. We cooperate with designers, software and hardware engineers, and operations teams to comprehend product requirements, negotiate features, design, and implement new applications of Amazon Robotics technology. Our methodology includes experimental design, statistical modeling, machine learning, financial analysis, and data visualization.

Basic Qualifications
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s/Master’s/Doctorate degree in an analytical field (Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Econometrics) or other equivalent discipline at an accredited US higher education institution with anticipated graduation in August 2024 or later
- Must be eligible and available to work full-time (40h/week) from January 2024 to June 2024 in the United States
- Able to write complex, high-quality SQL queries to retrieve and analyze robust datasets
- Basic understanding of Python, R or other related scripting language
- Experience using quantitative methods to evaluate product/system/service performance
- Experience building dashboards in Tableau or other relevant data visualization tool (Looker, PowerBI, Grafana, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven ability to effectively communicate across stakeholder groups
- Interest in data science and statistical analysis
- Understanding of ETL processes
- Prior experience in business intelligence, data engineering, system engineering or operations engineering
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis with demonstrated impact on a project or business use case, a track record of creative problem-solving, and a desire to create and build new processes
- Knowledge in building advanced visualizations in Tableau
- Familiarity with AWS (e.g Datalake, Athena, Sagemaker, S3, EC2, RDS)
- Advanced knowledge in scripting with Python for statistical analysis
- Proven record of taking end-to-end ownership and driving results; demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects - work prioritization, planning, task delegation, and coordination across functional teams
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, and an ability to effectively communicate with both business, leadership, and technical teams
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, complexity, and competing objectives in a high-paced environment
