About the Role: The CrowdStrike Data Science Team is seeking a driven professional with a wide-ranging knowledge encompassing Machine Learning, security, and engineering. The team is committed to enhancing the detection capacity and efficiency of the Falcon platform by employing Machine Learning algorithms to identify various types of attacks. The Applied Machine Learning Engineer II is responsible for training ML models, developing services and tools, and refining detections within our platform, allowing us to offer high standard and high accuracy detections to our customers. Moreover, you will contribute to our constant efforts to improve our Machine Learning algorithms by examining their results and providing data scientists with security insights. You will: Work with a team of threat researchers, data scientists, and engineers to produce technology and proof of concepts for detection and prevention of current and future threats Develop tools for automating tasks and services for ML model testing. Create predictive models using supervised, semi-supervised, or unsupervised learning techniques to detect and halt the most sophisticated threats Analyze file formats, and contribute to parsers and feature extraction tools. Requirements: Demonstrated experience in developing automatic tools and services. Solid fundamentals in problem-solving and algorithm design. Familiarity with Linux, Docker, Jenkins, and Git Strong programming and scripting skills. Ability to dive into a large Python codebase Good understanding of standard ML algorithms, their trade-offs, their applications, and how to optimize them Comfortable working with very large data sets of sparse high dimensional data; experience in preprocessing and analyzing such data to derive actionable insights Ability to implement small projects with input from others Good communication and presentation skills Preferred: Fundamental understanding of file formats (PE, Mach-o, ELF, PDF, etc.) Experience with Rust programming. Experience with developing large scale distributed systems Experience with Kubernetes BA/BS or MA/MS degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Security, Machine Learning.
