The Team You'll Join

We are forming a collaborative, interdisciplinary team focused on machine learning and inference-based discovery of drug programs from first principles. Our group includes computational biologists specialized in various therapeutic areas, mainly oncology, and data scientists on core build teams, ensuring robust feedback and support. Together, we excel in setting timelines, refining ideas, automating workflows, piloting, and transitioning projects to production.

We are a bold, agile, and diverse collective of experts in biology, computation, drug discovery, and machine learning, all committed to the singular goal of accelerating the development of new therapeutics for patients. As part of our team, you’ll collaborate extensively with data scientists, chemists, engineers, commercial strategists, and biologists across the organization to advance our milestones and provide invaluable insights that push Recursion's capabilities forward.

Attributes essential for success in this role include a bold, execution-first attitude and a passion for deploying rigorous science to bring life-changing therapies to patients.

The Experience You'll Need

  • PhD in a relevant field (computational biology, bioinformatics, statistics, quantitative pharmacology, cancer/cell biology, etc.) with over 3 years of experience addressing fundamental problems in oncology or drug discovery.
  • Proven experience in applying computational methods, including probabilistic, statistical, and/or machine learning techniques, to analyze complex biological and human clinical data.
  • Proficiency in high-level programming languages such as Python or R for complex data analysis.
  • General understanding of small molecule drug discovery and pharmacology.
  • Ability to efficiently prioritize and advance multiple drug-discovery projects to proof of concept.
  • Experience advancing drug program projects from proof of concept to preclinical stages. Industry oncology drug discovery experience is preferred.
  • Strong collaborative skills with a bold and passionate approach, and experience working in cross-functional teams.
