Who We Are Looking For

We are on the hunt for an Engineering Intern to join our Global Data and Analytics Organization. This role will place you at the heart of a diverse and expanding team of skilled scientists, analysts, and engineers tasked with maintaining the seamless flow of data from connected vehicles and AI-enabled Edge Cameras. This data powers insights and predictions that fuel our customer-facing products.

Role and Responsibilities

• Advocate and implement DataOps culture and best practices to enhance data product development.
• Design and maintain continuous integration and delivery pipelines for data.
• Explore and implement machine learning algorithms to derive meaningful insights from data analysis.
• Develop high-volume streaming data pipelines that process billions of events daily.
• Participate in a collaborative team environment, shaping the future of the team and Rekor.
• Navigate agile methodologies effectively within a cross-functional and globally distributed team.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Current Undergraduate (Senior) or Graduate students with a focus on data engineering or a related field.
• Experience with AWS Data and Analytics ecosystem (AWS Certification is a plus).
• Proficiency in Python & SQL and familiarity with other programming languages such as Scala or Java.
• Understanding of data engineering principles and lifecycle management.
• Experience with version control systems like BitBucket, GitHub, or GitLab.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across different regions and cultural backgrounds.

Educational Requirements

Candidates should be pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. AWS Certification is preferred.
