About the Role

Data is at the heart of what we do at Pagos. As a Data Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our data.

With a sharp eye for detail and a collaborative mindset, you will partner with our Engineering and Product teams. You will concentrate on testing data pipelines, identifying issues with rogue SQL queries, and pinpointing data inconsistencies.

As a Data Quality Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining data quality across the entire platform

• Creating scalable and dependable test plans to guarantee consistent data delivery

• Finding, researching, and tracking bugs

• Planning and coordinating test activities with cross-functional teams

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking someone with:

• 2-4 years of experience in QA/DQ engineering, data analysis, or a similar professional experience

• Exceptional knowledge of data observability, data governance, data quality tools, data lineage, and data validation tools

• Experience in establishing continuous integration for test automation

• Strength in creating and improving test automation frameworks

• Superior SQL knowledge, with experience in writing and debugging complex queries

• Experience with data quality test automation (e.g. Great Expectations, Apache Griffin, Deequ, DBT tests, customized Python scripts + Airflow, or similar tools)

• Experience with Python programming

• A bias towards action, with the understanding that no task is too small

• Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal when working with a global team operating asynchronously

Nice to have:

• Experience in the fintech/finance industry

• Experience with Data Build Tool

• Comfort or prior experience with Big Data testing

• Comfort or previous experience working with ETL
