Job Title: Data Scientist-3

Location: Bengaluru, India

Essential Functions

• Innovatively brainstorm ways to leverage our data to solve business problems.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their challenges and present data-driven solutions.
• Extract, analyze, and derive insightful data to support clients.
• Create visualizations to simplify complex analyses for a broad audience.
• Identify opportunities to develop products from data analyses suitable for multiple clients.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to leverage Visa data for business solutions.
• Mine and analyze data for product optimization, enhanced marketing techniques, and improved business strategies.
• Evaluate new data sources and data gathering techniques for effectiveness and accuracy.
• Develop custom data models and algorithms for data application.
• Utilize predictive modeling to improve customer experiences, revenue generation, and advertising targeting.
• Create processes and tools to monitor and ensure model performance and data accuracy.

This is a hybrid position, requiring presence in the office for 2-3 set days a week, with flexibility to work remotely for the rest of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (Master’s, MBA, JD, MD, PhD)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years of work experience with an Advanced Degree
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience analyzing large data sets using programming languages like Python, R, SQL, and Spark
• Proficiency in developing and refining machine learning models for predictive analytics, classification, and regression tasks
• 2+ years' experience in data-based decision-making or quantitative analysis
• Knowledge of ETL pipelines in Spark, Python, HIVE for processing transaction and account level data
• Skills in data visualization tools such as Tableau
• Competency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Previous experience in financial services, credit cards, or merchant analytics is a plus
