About You

As a Data Scientist at Obviously AI, you will leverage your R and Python expertise to tackle critical business challenges. Our solution is currently trusted by numerous global companies, appreciated for its rapid, reliable, and customer-centric service.

Reporting directly to the founders, you will play a pivotal role in our early success, with equity (a.k.a "skin in the game") enhancing your investment in our collective achievements.

Ideal Candidate Attributes

• 3-5 years of data science experience.
• Hands-on experience as a Data Scientist.
• Proficiency with ML and data science methodologies, such as Data Preprocessing, Feature Engineering, Building Forecasting Models (e.g., ARIMA, SARIMA, XGBOOST), and predictive models (Random Forest, Linear Regression, Boosting, Bagging).
• Experience with ML Libraries like Pandas and Sklearn/Scikit-learn.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of simplifying complex concepts for diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in writing R and Python scripts for data analysis, preprocessing, and feature engineering tasks.
• An ongoing passion for machine learning and data science, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements.
• A personality that connects easily with people and fosters collaboration while remaining autonomous.
• An inclination to build and streamline processes, balancing between detailed structure and the dynamic nature of a small team.
• A desire to grow in an energetic startup environment, eager to learn and expand your skill set across varied activities.
• Comfort with proposing new ideas and experimenting without fear of failure, adapting quickly to feedback.

Key Responsibilities

• Explain technical concepts to customers in understandable terms.
• Troubleshoot and optimize model performance, recommending best practices for dataset structuring.
• Perform data cleaning and preprocessing on complex datasets, including row/column removal, value normalization, and imputation of missing values.
• Conduct feature engineering on customer datasets, creating new columns from existing data, applying statistical functions, and column transformations.
• Analyze large datasets to uncover trends and patterns.
• Develop predictive models and machine-learning algorithms using Obviously AI's No-Code tool.
• Propose and implement strategies to address business challenges.
• Collaborate with engineering and product development teams.
• Manage and update technical support tickets and requests.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with early-stage startups (Seed to Series A).
• Experience with data science or AI products.
• Experience with self-serve, product-led SaaS solutions.
