- Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Operations Research, or Bioinformatics, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of experience in data scientist roles, with expertise in statistical data analysis including linear models, multivariate analysis, stochastic models, and sampling methods.
- Proficiency with statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, Python), databases, and scripting languages like SQL.
- Hands-on experience applying data science methodologies to survey research, including sampling and weighting.
- Proficiency in data engineering skills such as pipelining, scripting, Python coding/querying, and data cleaning for downstream analysis.
- Demonstrated experience leading the development of data science models from ideation to presentation, including problem definition, approach exploration, analysis, and stakeholder communication.
- Domain knowledge in the digital advertising space and familiarity with Google Ads products.
As a key member of the Customer Lab team, you will spearhead data science analytics across Google's extensive advertising ecosystem. Partnering with Customer Lab Researchers and senior leaders from Support, Product, Engineering, Brand, and Business organizations, you will deliver actionable insights that drive business decisions. You will gain a deep understanding of business goals, risks, challenges, and opportunities, ensuring that your analytics efforts align with and support executive leadership's decision-making needs.
The Go-to-Market Operations (GtM) team plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless functioning of Google's dynamic Ads business. Your role encompasses setting strategic go-to-market plans and ensuring flawless execution across various Ads business areas. The team comprises analytical and strategic minds that excel at achieving practical results.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $150,000 and $223,000, along with bonus, equity, and benefits. The salary range varies by location and is determined by the role, level, and individual qualifications including skills, experience, and education. - Define problem statements, decompose them, and develop solutions to deliver impactful and actionable outcomes.
- Communicate and visualize insights to various stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.
- Develop data engineering methodologies including data source identification, data pipelining, feature engineering, and data munging for research-to-production translation.
- Analyze and develop models using mathematical methods such as frequentist and Bayesian statistics, time-series analysis, supervised and unsupervised machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and semantic analysis.
- Conduct experiments to validate observational research findings.
- Foster strong internal and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the actionability of insights.
