About the Team The Data Science team offers crucial insights and tools that assist the executive leadership team, technological teams, and business units in optimizing test delivery, development, and security. Our area of specialization is understanding a plethora of business problems and utilizing various techniques such as data analysis, machine learning, and software engineering to create value from data and facilitate decision making. We have a strong affinity for data analysis, programming, implementing new technology, and developing practical solutions. Within our small, tightly-knit, and self-organized team of Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers, we actively collaborate and employ creative problem-solving to handle challenging tasks for many of the organization's strategic initiatives. About the Opportunity As a Data Scientist, you are a passionate collaborator who works closely with team members and stakeholders. You appreciate the opportunity to voice your ideas, utilize programming skills, data knowledge, and business insight to enhance processes that are too costly or impossible to execute without machine learning. You embrace new tasks with eagerness, whether it's building machine learning models to support the new digital testing platform or providing crucial insights to the executive leadership for informed strategic decisions. In this role, you will Develop machine learning applications (40%) - Design and implement high-quality software using the latest cloud and machine learning technologies - Independently manage and deliver small or medium-sized applications - Participate in identifying and constructing main components of complex machine learning models - Assess the efficiency and fairness of models, and discuss considerations or issues related to their implementation - Develop functions, APIs, and data stores to make predictions and analyses accessible to other systems Data exploration, analysis, and prototyping (40%) - Generate insights from existing data and lead the collection of new data - Communicate methods and results of advanced analyses - Create reproducible, documented analyses and models that can be automated Team Operations & Success (20%) - Assist the team in dividing the work into manageable tasks - Contribute to improving the team’s productivity and quality by enhancing tools, processes, and code structure - Advise other teams on Machine Learning projects - Assist in resolving production issues About you, you have: - Ideally a Master’s Degree in a quantitative discipline or computer science, or a Bachelor’s Degree with 2-3 years of related experience, 3+ years of related experience, or a compelling story to tell - Programming expertise in Python - Experience in data and statistical analysis - Proven experience in developing Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Generative AI solutions - Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases - A passion for creatively solving difficult problems - Excellent communication and listening skills - The ability to narrate a story with your data - Experience working within a tightly-knit team - Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps and Agile - Knowledge in developing applications on a Serverless or Microservices cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP, etc.) - Authorization to work in the US About Our Benefits and Compensation  The College Board provides a strong compensation and benefits package. Performance is rewarded through annual bonuses, salary increases, merit raises and promotions. The salary range for a new employee for this role is $110,000 to $131,000, depending on location and qualifications. Each salary offering is carefully calculated according to internal and external standards, and adjustments are made depending on the candidate's location.
