In our Control & Diagnostic Systems department, we focus on the development and certification of military, commercial, and industrial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems. This includes the development and support of Pratt & Whitney's engine control and diagnostic systems, which integrate across other engine system modules and air vehicles, from analysis & definition of systems to product software design, verification & validation. Our Diagnostics, Prognostics, and Health Management discipline focuses on the development and deployment of state-of-the-art data acquisition systems and analytics. Tasks include Usage Based Lifing for our engines and components and the deployment of advanced development tools and methodologies. We are looking for a Sensors and Analytics Technical Lead who will be responsible for maintaining and improving the F135 engine’s prognostic sensor capabilities to enable condition-based maintenance and inspections. This role will involve collaboration with engineering teams to develop next-generation data analytics and algorithms for military applications. The position is remote. Key Responsibilities: - Deploy algorithms to customer-facing systems to enable condition-based engine maintenance and improve fleet health. - Continually monitor and optimize the performance of the F135 sensing suite - Initiate, coordinate, and execute hardware improvement and sensing capability enhancement activities - Develop control software for health monitoring functions and algorithms. - Incorporate new datasets into existing data pipelines. - Collaborate on analytics development with data scientists and data analysts. - Provide exposure to a wide variety of engineering challenges. Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field - Five or more years of engineering experience or an Advanced Degree with three or more years of experience - US citizenship required Preferred Qualifications: - Familiar with modern data analysis and signal processing techniques - Demonstrated ability to apply advanced analytics to real-world sensor data - Experience in hardware/software risk reduction and capability validation efforts - Experience coordinating multiple organizations to deliver on schedule and on budget - Knowledge of aerospace control and diagnostic systems - Proficiency with Python, Java, Kubernetes, Apache Spark, and Agile - Familiarity with Cloud Computing tools and methods, particularly AWS and/or Azure. - Security Clearance is preferred. This role is of a Hybrid type: employees regularly work both onsite and offsite. All onsite responsibilities need to be performed on a regular basis.
