We are searching for an experienced leader to oversee a recently consolidated Data Science and Analytics team. Your role will be pivotal in shaping our data strategy, ensuring excellence in addressing business problems and developing insights that guide our roadmap, design decisions and marketing strategies across our artist and fan platforms. This team is situated within the Product organization to head company-wide goals and initiatives but collaborates closely with central data and engineering teams.
You Will:
Lead:
Build and manage a high-performance team of analysts and data scientists
Develop the data and analytics team into a reliable partner for teams across the organization, cooperating with them to solve complex business issues and provide recommendations based on insights
Influence TIDAL's data community and establish connections with Block's foundational engineering teams to apply best practices and advocate for support
Develop the analytics and data science discipline:
Play a vital role in helping our engineering and product teams make data-driven decisions to build superior products and thoughtful features
Encourage an environment enabling rapid execution while maintaining a high-quality standard
Show leadership in dealing with and structuring large data sets to create integrated views of the subscriber, subscriber behavior, and other data points
Take ownership of the TIDAL analytics roadmap including enhancements of capabilities, infrastructure, and tools
Drive execution:
Guide the design and delivery of analytics outputs – dashboards, in-depth analysis, measurement frameworks, attribution rigor, segmentation valuation, conversion funnel insights, and value measurement (LTV), etc.
Develop efficient processes, ensuring the team operates with speed, ownership, and self-accountability
Provide mentorship to team members through constructive feedback, coaching, and technical guidance
Transform vague, unstructured business problems into actionable data-driven analyses
Communicate analysis and insights to high-level partners and executives in verbal, visual, and written media
Build and maintain crucial data infrastructure in collaboration with our dedicated data engineering team
You Have:
8 years of experience in analytics and data science
3+ years in people management; you have recruited and nurtured high-performing teams
Team management and cross-functional collaboration skills, including executive communication, data-driven storytelling, and prioritization
Experience leading data science infrastructure strategy and implementation and familiarity with data warehouse design, development, and best practices
Experience in experiment design
Proficiency with SQL, Python and data visualization tools (i.e., Looker, Tableau, Thoughtspot)

Block implements a market-based approach to pay, and salaries may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographical area. The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be adjusted in the future.
Zone A: USD $202,500 - USD $247,500
Zone B: USD $192,400 - USD $235,200
Zone C: USD $182,300 - USD $222,800
Zone D: USD $172,200 - USD $210,400
