KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Junior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing and deploying data analysis pipelines (also known as ETL) at various Lynx Analytics clients. In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with our senior data engineers/scientists and progressively transition towards independent project delivery.
- Identify the existing data sources from the client pertinent to the problem we are solving. This entails discussions with client IT, data owners, future business users, and so on.
- Take part in the decision-making process for the technical architecture of the ETL solution.
- Develop the data ingestion subsystem: the system tasked with transferring all necessary data sources to one location where the actual analysis will be conducted.
- Implement the data analysis pipelines using standard Big Data technologies (YARN, Spark, Airflow, etc).
- Provide the underlying infrastructure (DevOps).
- Develop an increasing understanding of the business problems we resolve.
REQUIREMENTS
- 0-4 years of work experience - recent graduates are welcome
- We value education! Ideal candidates will possess a BS or Master's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar)
- Excellent academic grades in university
- Proficient in SQL and Python
- Experience in data science
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential
Bonus points if you also have
- Experience in AWS/GCP, Airflow or Spark. If you're unfamiliar with these platforms, you'll get the chance to learn everything.
- Solid experience in Python or SQL.
