Job Description

We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join our team, helping ASOS deliver the best shopping experience to our millions of customers. You will be working closely with our retail, marketing and technology departments. You will be part of a highly innovative AI platform, working alongside data engineers and machine learning scientists on challenging and complex problems using leading-edge technology. ASOS, being an online-only retailer, possesses unique datasets - transactions, and click-stream data for millions of customers, and photos, videos, and text descriptions for hundreds of thousands of products.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and experience in solving intricate problems with large datasets. You should be a highly intelligent self-motivated individual capable of working independently and paying strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and enhancing internal and external data products in a cross-functional team
  • Implementing algorithms for measurable impact across the business
  • Deploying machine learning models at the scale at which ASOS operates
  • Creating the tools, frameworks and infrastructure that help accelerate the delivery and optimization of our ML products
  • Playing an active role in our AI platform to establish ML Ops standards and ensure quality across our systems
  • Promoting diversity, equity & inclusion

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning or similar
  • Hands-on experience implementing, deploying and maintaining large scale machine learning models in Python, Scala, .NET or similar languages
  • Comfortable working with at least one machine learning framework (TensorFlow, , XGBoost, scikit-learn, etc)
  • Experience with extracting data from multiple sources and building data pipelines in a cloud environment, specifically Apache Spark
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and engineering practices (Data pipelines, API workflows, CI/CD, containerisation), specifically ML Ops principles, techniques and tooling
  • Ability to work collaboratively and proactively in a fast-paced environment alongside scientists, engineers and non-technical stakeholders
  • Understanding of the retail, marketing, and/or ecommerce industry is a plus.
