Job Description

We are offering a new opportunity to join our Data Management team as a Master Data Manager. Reporting to the Senior Manager - Data Strategy and Modelling, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing master and reference data management solutions. This role is essential to ensure accurate data integration across systems and reduction of data duplication within TAL's data assets.

This is a permanent role to be performed flexibly from our Sydney office.

In this role, your responsibilities include:

  • Identifying the requirements for master and reference data across the business
  • Designing conceptual data models that capture information consistently and accurately
  • Creating business processes to ensure data usability, sustainability, and currency
  • Designing workflows to report data quality exceptions on master data
  • Defining data stewardship, custodianship and operating models for data development and maintenance
  • Articulating technology platform requirements, including versioning, security and access controls, subscriptions, integration, and bulk update features
  • Performing UAT and reviewing/approving technical solutions developed by the data engineers
  • Ensuring comprehensive change planning for downstream consumers of master and reference data, including communications and training
  • Identifying or recommending processes that require integration of core admin systems or development of new master and reference data assets
  • Reviewing and approving business requirements documents for data projects as they relate to master and reference data

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Data Management role
  • Prior experience with tools such as Microsoft MDS, Profisee, Oracle Ref and Informatica
  • Experience with Data Projects or Data as a Product
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Potent presentation skills and confidence in leading workshops with a range of stakeholders
  • Excellent stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience in building enterprise reference and master data across different data domains
  • Ability to integrate master and reference data with other data capabilities such as metadata (technical and business), data quality, and data modeling
  • Ability to write SQL code for profiling and analysis, reverse engineering of current state, and defining the target state
