Molecular Data Scientist - Biologics Position

Key Responsibilities
As a Molecular Data Scientist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Enhancing our internal Modelling/AI workflow for data-driven compound design, incorporating novel ML technologies for protein structure predictions, biophysical property predictions, and variant design.
- Driving the development and integration of novel SAR visualization and analysis tools to ensure their optimal use within selected projects.
- Collaborating closely with research scientists, data science, and machine learning colleagues across global sites to achieve multidisciplinary project goals.
- Developing predictive models for biologics design, SAR analysis, and visualization methods to support multi-objective compound design and data-driven decision making.
- Applying predictive models for biologics design, including developability engineering and the experimental design of high-throughput variant libraries.
- Reviewing the technology landscape and building external collaborations with key partners in the AI field for biologics.
Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- PhD degree in a computational chemistry or biology discipline, such as Computational Chemistry, Molecular Modelling, or Bio-/Cheminformatics.
- Significant experience in drug discovery in a relevant pharma/biotech RD environment or a comparable postgraduate academic experience.
- A proven track record and in-depth knowledge in the development and application of AI/ML for de novo design and/or compound property predictions, preferably for biologics.
- Broad knowledge of cheminformatics, bioinformatics, and QSAR methods, along with experience in developing related data analysis pipelines and visualization tools.
- Experience using protein modelling software such as Rosetta, Schrodinger, and/or MOE.
- Proficiency in Python, data workflow tools, and data science packages like scikit-learn and pandas.
Position Details
This role is based in our new London Office at Kings Cross and is a 12-month fixed-term contract. The position operates on a hybrid model, requiring 2 days of work from the office.
