JPMorgan Chase & Co., a leading global financial services firm with a history spanning over 200 years, is looking for a talented Operations Research Scientist - Associate to join our innovative Workforce Planning (WFP) team within the Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) Operations division.

About the Role

The WFP Data Science organization focuses on developing quantitatively driven solutions that support essential core functions such as demand forecasting, capacity planning, resource scheduling, and business analysis & support. We service Chase’s extensive networks, including call centers, back offices, and approximately 5,200 retail branches.

This role involves designing and implementing optimization models and simulation models. As an Operations Research Scientist, you will conceptualize frameworks to solve unstructured business problems into technical strategies, enhancing decision-making processes across the organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and development of optimization and simulation models.
  • Work individually or as part of a project team on Operations Research projects.
  • Partner with stakeholders to grasp business needs and clearly define solution objectives.
  • Choose appropriate methodologies to solve problems and stay updated on the latest in Operations Research techniques.
  • Ensure solution robustness and communicate findings in a clear, impactful manner.
  • Lead and drive positive outcomes influencing team efforts and project directions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree with 6+ years or Doctorate (PhD) with 4+ years of experience in Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Financial Engineering, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated ability in simulation modeling, optimization, and heuristic approaches.
  • Proficiency in Open Source Software (OSS) programming languages such as Python, R or Scala.
  • Experience with commercial solvers (GUROBI, CPLEX, XPRESS, MOSEK) and familiarity with database operations (SQL, Hive, etc.).
  • Effective relationship building and influencing skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced expertise in Operations Research methodologies and stochastic modeling.
  • Experience in leading complex technical projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge in building Reinforcement Learning Models.
