Job Description:

The Principal RWE Scientific Data Analyst will spearhead programming activities in line with Real World Evidence (RWE) strategies, focusing on programming for RWE studies and dashboards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead projects to develop programming routines (using SAS or R) and sophisticated SQL queries to extract, clean, manage, and analyze large health datasets. Data sources include medical and pharmacy claims, hospital data, electronic medical records, and prospective observational study data.
• Translate study designs into algorithms for data extraction, analysis, and reporting for Non-Interventional Studies (NIS) or interactive data visualization tools.
• Collaborate with RWE Research Analysts in scoping and designing projects.
• Provide guidance in using RWE tools such as R, R/shiny, SAS, Impala, git, or JIRA.
• Conduct and guide observational data analyses, including data management and statistical programming, and design and develop RWE dashboards.
• Advise on machine learning and data mining techniques such as random forest, GBM, logistic regression, SVM, and deep learning.
• Experience with dimensional reduction and R packages such as ggplot, plotly, or t-SNE.
• Ensure consistency and compliance with company standards for project documentation, including specifications for analysis datasets, tables, figures, and listings.

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, plus 8+ years as a programmer or data scientist in the pharma industry, contract research organization, or academic institute.
• Proficiency with R packages: Shiny, Rmarkdown, ggplot, plotly, data.table, dplyr.
• Experience with version control tools like git or JIRA.
• Expertise in setting up standardized programming scripts.
• Proven experience in SQL querying using Hive, Impala, MySQL, OracleSQL, or similar.

Desirable Requirements:

• Project management skills and experience.
• Experience with big data platforms like Hadoop or Apache Spark.
