Job Description:

Our Data Science team at Cash App is pivotal in extracting valuable insights from our unique datasets and translating those insights into actionable strategies that enhance our customer's experience. As a Senior Data Scientist within the Identity workstream of our Trust organization, you will collaborate closely with product management and cross-functional teams to provide meaningful insights into our identity systems.

Since our identity systems are crucial for our expansion and user access, a meticulous attention to detail and a knack for data storytelling are vital. Your role will include:

  • Partnering closely with Cash App's Trust organization, including product, operations, engineering, legal, compliance, and machine learning teams.
  • Generating timely and accurate reports from complex datasets using SQL and scripting languages to deliver critical insights.
  • Creating clear data visualizations and dashboards to convey customer behavior and product initiatives effectively.
  • Building, monitoring, and reporting on metrics that drive strategy and facilitate key business decisions.
  • Exhibiting urgency, attention to detail, and sound business judgment.
  • Interpreting A/B experiments to integrate changes into key performance indicators.
  • Writing code to process, cleanse, and combine data sources uniquely, often resulting in curated ETL datasets.
  • Communicating your findings regularly with team leads and cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualifications:

You possess:

  • Previous exposure or interest in leadership reporting, anomaly detection, audit, or regulatory data science.
  • A bachelor’s degree in statistics, data science, or a related STEM field with over 5 years of relevant experience, OR a graduate degree in a similar field with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with SQL and data visualization tools like Tableau or Looker.
  • Experience with programming languages like Python or R for data analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of cohort and funnel analyses, and strong understanding of statistical concepts such as selection bias, probability distributions, and conditional probabilities.

Block employs a market-based approach to pay, with varying pay scales depending on your location. The starting salary for the successful candidate will be based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be adjusted in the future.

  • Zone A: USD $142,000 - USD $213,000
  • Zone B: USD $134,900 - USD $202,300
  • Zone C: USD $127,800 - USD $191,600
  • Zone D: USD $120,700 - USD $181,100
