Senior IT Manager - Data Engineering

Summary

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Data Engineering to join our Enterprise Data & Analytics organization. This pivotal leadership role involves designing, delivering, and operating data capabilities to transform our business. Your contributions will support product-oriented delivery teams and drive organizational success. Reporting to the Director of Data Engineering, you will impact our enterprise, analyst communities, and downstream systems by enabling data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead high-performance teams working on cloud and data technologies. You will communicate effectively across the business, leading conversations, consulting with teams, and aligning stakeholders. Your technical delivery expertise and influence will foster collaboration and system understanding. Key responsibilities include:

• Building, maintaining, and operating data engineering solutions to support enterprise data needs, analyst communities, and downstream systems.
• Partnering with Genesys business teams throughout the data lifecycle.
• Fostering continuous engineering improvement through a data-driven approach.
• Ensuring stakeholder management and developing a team culture of problem-solving and growth mindset.
• Collaborating with product management, data engineering, and leadership teams to create a detailed delivery roadmap.
• Following agile practices and supporting team career development through mentoring and coaching.
• Leading data operational maturity efforts, including data quality, SLA adherence, monitoring, and alerting.
• Evangelizing the business value delivered by IT.

Requirements

• 3+ years in senior technology-based data delivery, architecture, or similar roles, with over 12+ years in data and associated functions.
• Master expertise in data engineering, APIs, database systems, public cloud technologies, and related patterns, with hands-on experience in AWS technologies for storage, compute, orchestration, and more. Familiarity with Snowflake, Fivetran, Spark, messaging frameworks, data streaming, and open-source technologies is essential. Knowledge of Salesforce and Workday is a plus.
• Demonstrated expertise in core enterprise data systems and capabilities (ingress, compute, egress, MDM, AI/ML, data modeling, etc.).
• Strong technical and business acumen, relationship-building skills, and excellent communication abilities.
• Aptitude for thriving when challenged, backing up viewpoints with facts, and achieving compromises.
