ABOUT THIS ROLE In this crucial role, you will be at the forefront of shaping and evolving our Data Engineering solutions, primarily through the enhancement of our existing data platform. You will also cooperate with different elements of our global data ecosystem. Working closely with Global Analytics business stakeholders, your responsibilities will include data integration, data modeling, execution of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and the implementation of flexible data solutions. These solutions will be designed meticulously with a strong focus on data quality, conforming to the best practices in data warehousing. These efforts are essential for the success of our data-driven initiatives. ABOUT YOU You are a highly competent programming specialist who will be actively involved in the design, development, troubleshooting, debugging, assessment, support, and enhancement of data engineering solutions. You will leverage existing system architectures to broaden the capabilities of these applications, emphasizing optimizing data pipelines. This will result in more efficient data processes, ultimately enabling end users to excel in their tasks with improved effectiveness and efficiency. As a Senior Programmer Analyst, you will: - Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to evaluate source systems, identify foundational data sources, determine transformation requirements, create suitable data models, and document the design and specifications. - Develop systems and datasets by applying software engineering best practices, fundamental data management principles, contemporary distributed systems. - Create, maintain, and optimize data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and loading data from various sources into data storage systems. - Identify and solve performance bottlenecks in data pipelines, databases, and related systems. - Show passion for quality and productivity through the use of efficient development techniques, standards, and guidelines. - Produce technical documentation to support data delivery development. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Newark, NJ, USA Basic Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or equivalent - 3+ years of experience in a Data Warehouse (DWH) environment and experience with Data integration/ETL of large and complex data sets - Expertise in performance tuning and scaling of BI systems - Proficiency in SQL and database technologies such as AWS Redshift and expertise in performance tuning and scaling in a DWH environment - Data modeling skills such as Star/Snowflake schema design for DWH Preferred Qualifications - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Ability to work with different teams for data sourcing - Knowledge in scripting for automation (e.g., Python) - Effective analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills - Ability to learn quickly, work independently with minimal supervision, and deliver quality products on time - Experience with Agile Scrum Audible is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
