About the Role
The mission of Huawei Ireland Research Centre (IRC) is to solidify Huawei as a recognized technological leader and global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) solutions. We accomplish this by building an industry-recognized, multi-disciplinary Research Centre of experts who concentrate on medium to long-term issues. IRC works closely with an open innovation ecosystem including Huawei customers to address real-world problems. We also engage with key European universities to establish a basic research capability supporting Huawei’s technical projects.
In this role, you will work as a researcher/research engineer in our User Experience Service (UES) and Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations (AIOps) team, conducting world-class, cutting-edge research involving AI and data analytics to solve complex challenges in cloud services and user experience management.
Our team works closely with Huawei's Consumer Business Group, cloud service business unit. With a passion for intelligent automation, cost/performance optimization, and customer experience, our team has accomplished numerous technical breakthroughs over recent years. Therefore, a primary objective of this role is to leverage a wealth of operational data to intelligently automate various aspects of DevOps, service operations, and experience optimization processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate, develop, and maintain scalable, efficient solutions to address business and research challenges in DevOps, AIOps, or MLOps domains for large scale cloud architecture.
- Work independently and with the team to deliver research proofs of concept or solutions.
- Design and develop system components to translate research into production trials to achieve business goals and impacts.
- Participate in design and code reviews to ensure solution quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for solution delivery.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members when necessary.
Requirements
- Proven professional expertise in solving real-world problems or a PhD in a relevant field such as Computer Science, distributed system, AI, or software engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to design and develop large-scale software systems.
- Experience with large-scale cloud service management and service experience optimization in one or more of the following areas:
-- Performance and reliability management for very large single cloud cluster and federated cloud cluster architectures.
-- Resource scheduling optimization, interference reduction, and efficiency improvement related to large-scale container clusters for multiple business scopes.
-- Dynamic allocation and on-demand isolation of network resources for microservices-based cloud-native application runtimes.
-- Resource elasticity related to large-scale microservices architecture, featuring multiple indicators, and complex Infrastructure with heterogeneous computing resources.
