As part of the Data Privacy team, you'll work hand in hand with teams throughout Lyft to ensure our products, services, and partnerships protect both company and personal data from unauthorized or unnecessary access. You'll institute and upkeep preventive, investigative, and corrective controls; work closely with the security team to offer privacy controls on a large scale; and regularly consult with others across the organization to reduce risk exposure and enhance data safeguards. Responsibilities: Design essential frameworks that manage access to systems, encode sensitive data, and generate audit trails. Implement and launch tools that consistently and automatically pinpoint vulnerabilities and bad practices, enhancing visibility for incident response. Identify weaknesses in technical and human processes; create solutions to alleviate or rectify these weaknesses. Consult with engineering teams on privacy matters throughout the software development lifecycle. Design and implement distributed systems in AWS, utilizing NoSQL datastores like DynamoDB, MongoDB, and so on. Consult with engineering and legal teams to comprehend data retention, deletion, usage, and exposure necessities. Promote data privacy across the organization. Experience: You're a software engineer with experience in at least one modern object-oriented programming language. You enjoy coding and are thrilled at the prospect of launching services and tools in a dynamically changing setting. You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You flourish in team-oriented environments. You have judicious judgment and a robust work ethic. You can independently categorize and prioritize work. You challenge the norm. You identify weak points in intricate systems, devise solutions, and advocate for them. Implementing code standards, source control management, build processes, code reviews, and testing. Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or another cloud infrastructure provider. Familiar with NoSQL datastores (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB). Experience with Distributed SQL query engines (e.g., Trino and Spark) Knowledge of Workflow management tools (e.g., Airflow) Experience in building distributed systems or web applications at scale. Familiar with Secure coding frameworks (e.g., OWASP Top 10). Salary ranges depend on various factors such as qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The range does not include potential equity offerings, bonuses, or benefits.
