Special Missions Machine Learning Engineer The Opportunity: As a seasoned engineer, you understand that machine learning (ML) is essential for interpreting and managing large datasets. Your capability to perform statistical analyses on business procedures using ML techniques makes you a vital part of providing a customer-centered solution. As an ML engineer on our Chief Technology Office team, you will train, test, deploy, and maintain models that learn from data. In this role, you will own and dictate the direction of mission-critical solutions by applying best-fit ML algorithms and technologies. You will be part of a broad community of ML engineers across the firm and will collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, solutions architects, and product owners to deliver world-class solutions to the special operations community. Your advanced consultation skills and extensive technical expertise will guide clients while they navigate the complex landscape of ML algorithms, tools, and frameworks. Join us. You Have: - 5+ years of ML engineering, data science, research engineering, software engineering, development, or full-stack engineering experience, including in an academic or professional setting. - Experience with object-oriented programming in Java, C++, or Python. - Experience with developing software architecture with containerization tools, such as Docker or Kubernetes. - Experience in the Special Operations community. - Experience with databases, including SQL. - Knowledge of data science fundamentals and methods. - TS/SCI clearance. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering. Nice If You Have: - 5+ years of experience developing and deploying ML models into production within DoD enclaves. - Experience with training models in Databricks with MLflow. - Experience with software development, including API development or database management, model deployment, and usage with JavaScript frameworks, such as React, Angular, or Node.js. - Experience with Extract, Transform and Load tools, data warehousing, and data pipeline development. - Experience with PostgreSQL. - Experience with pandas or geopandas. - Experience with visualization tools, such as Tableau, Anaconda, or R Studio. - Knowledge of DoD and IC domain and artificial intelligence principles and practices. - Ability to deploy production application to a Cloud environment, such as Google Cloud or Amazon Web Services. - Master's degree. Clearance: Applicants chosen will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility criteria for classified information access; TS/SCI clearance is required. Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $93,400.00 to $212,000.00 (annualized USD). This estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
