A Day in the Life:

This is an exceptional opportunity for a data analytics professional to partner with our Corporate Finance group, driving results within Hertz's US Operations. Our Finance team collaborates closely with Hertz leaders on financial aspects of the business, helping to steer strategic decision-making through detailed data and analytics around our fleet, customer activity, and operating expenses.

The ideal candidate is comfortable with ambiguity and possesses the drive to overcome complex business challenges. We seek a dynamic team player who is highly motivated and capable of prioritizing high-value activities to meet deadlines. A strong background in business analytics, financial systems, and technical solutions is essential. The ability to communicate performance measurements via visualizations (e.g., tableau dashboard development) and statistical modeling with high accuracy is a must. Proficiency in handling large data sets, from querying to visualization and analysis, is crucial, along with effective communication of findings to diverse stakeholders.

In this fast-paced team, you will engage in activities such as building and enhancing business models, supporting technical and process solutions, providing financial analysis for our US RAC organization, and handling actuals reporting, forecasting, and budgeting. Senior leadership reviews our actuals reporting and data visualizations to pinpoint opportunities, risks, and support key business decisions. This role provides exposure to senior management and the chance to influence financial results and enhance operational performance.

Starting Salary:

The starting salary for this position is $90K, commensurate with experience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Play a key role in providing financial business analysis, decision support, and thought leadership.
  • Prepare and maintain reports/dashboards (e.g., tableau dashboard development) to derive insights into past/present business performance.
  • Develop complex models and scenarios to forecast performance and identify issues/opportunities by analyzing financial and non-financial data.
  • Curate data from various sources, including internal databases and external APIs, and aggregate it for descriptive reports or predictive models.
  • Condense and synthesize extensive financial data into actionable messages through dashboards to identify management opportunities for improving performance and achieving financial goals.
  • Solve complex analytical problems using quantitative approaches, leveraging a unique blend of technical, business, mathematical, analytical, and data skills.
  • Develop financial forecasts, generate internal management reports, monitor key performance indicators, and drive the scaling and automation of financial processes.
  • Support monthly reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes for short-term and long-term business planning.
  • Provide timely and accurate analysis of US Business Performance, including revenue, operating expenses, and EBITDA impact, with an understanding of variances to prior forecasts, annual operating plans, and prior-year performance.
  • Anticipate future market or industry trends to guide business performance decisions.
  • Understand ROI/NPV related to business investments and cases.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis support for senior management.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, data analytics, mathematics, statistics, or accounting.
  • MBA or Master of Science in Data Analytics preferred.
  • 3+ years of FP&A, Finance, or Data Science experience in an analytical/reporting role preferred.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, Java, and R modeling.
  • Experience with Tableau or similar BI tools.
  • Expert proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Power BI.
  • The ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple functions and locations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work effectively in ambiguous situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Results-driven with the ability to make decisions and overcome business challenges.
