Based in Singapore, we are a rapidly growing startup focused on revolutionizing global B2B sourcing and international trade. We are currently seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join our growing team, who will report directly to our Founder.

Purpose

You will play a key role in a multi-disciplinary team tasked with designing, building, and launching a sourcing platform aimed at SMEs in emerging markets. The ultimate objective is to create a product that supports our customers in fulfilling their daily sourcing needs.

Your Responsibilities

● Planning and Implementing: Designing the backend architecture from the ground up, ensuring its scalability and efficiency, and aligning it with our vision of being the premier sourcing tool.

● Strategic Technical Oversight: Leading technical decisions in line with business priorities and the product roadmap.

● AI and Data Integration: Heading the integration of AI, LLM, ML, and data engineering into our products to enhance sourcing efficiency and provide actionable insights.

● Data-Driven Improvements: Analyzing patterns in customer usage and feedback to refine and optimize the technical aspects of our platform.

● Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with product, operations, and business teams to make sure technical strategies align with business goals.

● Coaching and Code Excellence: Maintaining code quality, promoting best practices, and mentoring the tech team to ensure consistent and high-quality output.

What You Need to Succeed

● At least 7 years of experience in traditional software engineering fields such as Product Manager/Data Engineer/Data Analyst/Data Scientist and Software Engineer (preferred), with at least 3 years in a technical lead or similar role. Demonstrated experience in building, scaling, and optimizing backend systems is essential.

● Experience in developing an AI-powered product using Machine Learning, as well as strong interest in generative AI, LLM, and cutting-edge technology in the sourcing domain.

● Ability to convert business requirements into technical solutions and make tech decisions that facilitate business growth.

● Expertise in designing, deploying, and maintaining resilient, scalable systems capable of handling large volumes of data and user interactions.

● Comprehensive understanding of agile methodologies, focusing on iterative development, continual feedback, and progressive improvements.

● Competency with AWS/GCP, solid experience with NodeJS / Python Programming Language, Unix Systems.

● Familiarity with Devops such as CI/CD, Dockers, and Docker Compose

● Fluent in English; proficiency in any Asian language is a considerable advantage.
