About the role
We are looking for an outstanding individual to join our Design team as a Senior Product Designer - Data Visualization. As we continue to expand rapidly, we require an experienced Designer with a strong and diverse background in collaborating on Data Visualisation projects, converting complex data sets and organisational requirements into significant visuals.
In this role, you will primarily be responsible for designing and executing both customer-facing Data Visualisations and internal dashboards. You will collaborate closely with our Data and Analytics, Metrics, Revenue, Product, and Engineering teams, and engage directly with customers and users to comprehend their unique needs. Extensive experience in agile team environments, collaboration with developers, and interaction with product teams are vital. Your ability to translate user experience journeys into seamless and intuitive interactions will be highly valued.
In addition to your design expertise, effective communication skills are crucial. You should be skilled in clearly and understandably conveying your design vision to stakeholders. Adaptability and collaboration are of utmost importance, considering the continually changing nature of our startup environment.
In this position, exceptional skills and proven experience in Data Visualisation are absolutely necessary. Your proficiency in visualising data will allow you to convert complex information into clear and significant visual representations, thereby enhancing the overall user experience.
You will:
- Conceptualise, design and implement user-centred application experiences
- Create wireframes, site maps, diagrams/schematics, process maps, feature lists, mock-ups, visual specification, working prototypes and other artefacts to describe the intended user experience
- Collaborate with various teams within the organization, including research analysts, marketing, and communications, to understand their design needs and provide creative solutions
- Use your design expertise to present data and research findings in a way that simplifies complex concepts, making them accessible to a broader audience
- Proactively propose improvements in design, function, and features as well as sharing knowledge, research, and experience, etc.
You have:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a UI Design/Visual Design/Digital Design (or related) role with excellent demonstrable experience in Data Visualization
- Visual design experience with proficiency in typography, desktop/mobile UI, colour, layout, iconography, and an aesthetic sense
- Solid experience with Figma and typical software that supports production
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- The ability to understand and uphold brand continuity, brand guidelines, and brand positioning, etc.
It's nice if you have:
- Experience of After Effects and SVG Animation
- Experience/Knowledge of React UI Library, CSS preprocessors, emotion/styled-components, and storybook etc
- A solid understanding of front-end, back-end and the software development life cycle would be a great advantage
- Interest/experience in sustainability and ESG initiatives.

- Applicants are expected to spend at least 1 day per week in a Novata office, although if that doesn’t work for you we do have some flexibility on allowing more remote work.
