Why This Role Is Important To Arcadia
In this role, you will be part of the Enterprise Data Engineering team, contributing to the Life Sciences product vertical. You will design, build, install, and test data processes that ingest, transform, and analyze data at a petabyte scale. By leveraging technologies like Apache Spark, AWS Glue, Kafka, Kubernetes, and Snowflake, you will develop and extend the tools that allow Arcadia's data aggregation, deidentification, and delivery services.
The ideal candidate should be passionate about using technologies to solve complex problems in a distributed, non-uniform environment, and capable of independently assessing technology tools and processes. They should be motivated by cutting-edge technologies and methodologies, with an eager curiosity to learn and apply them in the healthcare space.
What Success Looks Like:
In 3 months, you should understand the high-level data flows and architecture used in Arcadia's Life Sciences data pipeline, collaborate with existing SMEs to learn and support data refresh activities, contribute to the development of high priority features, and complete onboarding requirements and team-specific training.
In 6 months, you should have a deep understanding of the data flows and architecture used in Arcadia's Life Sciences data pipeline, contribute to the design and build of more complex and impactful features, and actively contribute to discussions on feature/system design.
In 12 months, you should continue to excel in building and deploying product features and technical improvements and identify opportunities to eliminate technical debt and improve development and delivery practices.
What You'll Be Doing:
You will be leveraging Arcadia's advanced data processing stack to support the delivery of data products to our Life Sciences customers, implementing changes to improve stability, performance, and automation of the data delivery process, building out data enhancements to unlock key customer use cases, collaborating with cross-functional business and operations stakeholders to debug and support data delivery tasks, and providing feedback to improve software development processes and technological investment opportunities.
What You'll Bring:
A BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, strong programming fundamentals, experience with distributed systems and technologies, familiarity with large-scale, complex data sets and data pipelines, the ability to deliver production software, and a commitment to learning and improving.
