Niantic's Platform Operations team is responsible for initiating, expanding, and optimizing all aspects of our Platform business. The Associate Product Data Operations Manager role is versatile, providing extensive exposure to various aspects of data collection and labeling. A large part of your job will contribute to Niantic's 3D mapping of the world, from managing auditing processes that enhance the quality of our mapping data to operating our support infrastructure for surveyors. You will oversee the execution and improvement of specific workstreams, constantly supporting peers to accomplish vital Platform Ops objectives. This is an ideal opportunity for an Operations Coordinator or Manager to venture into the field of augmented reality and mapping, or for someone already in the area to take on a broader set of responsibilities. Responsibilities - Oversee scanning operations. - Ensure scanning requests are completed on time and to the highest standard. - Collaborate with suppliers to recruit, onboard, and mobilize surveyors to provide scanning data. - Evaluate the quality and efficiency of surveyor output. Implement changes across personnel, tools, or processes to yield the most impactful improvements. - Stay updated on the latest internal mapping processes and their effects on our scanning requirements. - Contribute to the development of scanning devices through our team's field expertise. - Supervise labeling operations. - Supply our customers (Research, ML, or Product) with high-quality labeled data. - Comprehend and clarify the customer's labeling needs. - Manage customer expectations and identify opportunities for quality/time/cost optimization. - Ability to collaborate with external suppliers by communicating customer requirements and providing precise labeling procedures. - Develop and implement operational guidelines and practices. - Manage customer deliveries and ensure deadlines are met. - Conduct quality assurance checks on labeled and scanned data. - Stay informed about new technologies and best practices in labeling and scanning. - Collaborate with cross-functional team members and stakeholders, including regular and reliable participation in meetings. - Required in-office attendance on Mondays and Wednesdays. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in a related field. - 3+ years of experience in operations management. - An unfailing ownership mentality with a reputation for getting the job done, no matter how complex. - Adaptive and quick to learn. You enjoy multi-tasking and are comfortable adjusting plans to meet business priorities. - Excellent translator. Capable of rapidly understanding and speaking the different team languages to ensure nothing gets lost in translation. - Diligent and determined. In the face of ambiguity or untestable requirements, you aim for a definitive answer. - Capability to operate in a fast-paced hybrid environment, manage stress appropriately, and adapt to dynamic situations with little prior notice. - Experience working in cross-functional teams with effective written and verbal communication skills, including real-time interactions with others. Bonus if… - You have previous experience in data labeling or collection operations. - You have previous experience managing customer support systems, including using Zendesk. - You have previous experience collaborating with highly technical partners. The total compensation package for this position includes a starting salary range of $84,000 - $94,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by work location and additional factors, such as assessed job-related skills, experience, and applicable education or training.
