Get to know the team & Role The Trust, Identity & Safety team, known also as Integrity, serves as the guardians for all our users on Grab. We utilize our abundant data to find solutions for a variety of issues such as safety, account theft, inappropriate content, and fraud. A hands-on team, we are interested in the complete data life-cycle; from understanding the behavior of our users, identifying abnormalities, to creating detection and prevention tools for suspicious activities. As the Data Analyst in our Integrity team, you will scrutinize Grab’s data to gain insight into user behaviors and potential platform risks. You will translate these understandings into recommended actions to counteract various types of risks. Your role will be to build effective data-driven strategies and methods to minimize the overall cost of risks to the Grab ecosystem, which extends beyond the Grab platform to Digital banks and various Grab partner companies. The Day-to-Day Activities - Analysis of extensive user, transaction and alternative data to discover patterns, trends, and issues that help inform Grab’s risk policies and procedures, and contribute to risk management mechanisms - Optimization of Risk rules and algorithms to maintain robust risk management by rapidly identifying emerging harmful trends through data-driven analysis, and developing tactical and strategic rules and algorithms to address them - Execution of data/statistical analyses to keep Risk systems and processes at the cutting edge of optimal risk prevention by recognizing areas of potential risk and opportunity to enhance measures, policies, and controls - Development and communication of insights and recommended actions to stakeholders to manage risk by contributing to the development of machine learning models, rules and other detection systems - Construction and maintenance of dashboards for all stakeholders to provide views of key metrics, patterns and detection efficiency - Act as the source of truth for risk metrics in the organization and own their rationale as well as their monitoring - Collaborate cross-functionally on managing risk associated with Grab products, processes, and payment methods - Perform the function of a data-driven strategic consultant for risk-related decisions in his/her area and is perceived as the expert on the subject matter The Must-Haves - 1-3 years of experience as an active analyst in a high-tech company - A technical degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Data Sciences, Mathematics, or related fields - Strong experience in handling large-scale unstructured data. Experience in SQL or other data managing tools, as well as the ability to learn more advanced data - Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as PowerBI and/or Tableau - Working experience with data analysis tools like R and/or Python - Experience with the application of experimentation and statistical methods (such as hypothesis testing, probability distributions, regression, decision trees, etc.) - Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong training skills - Ability to make sound judgment calls independently when faced with difficult decisions, especially when only partial information is available - Proactive attitude in a fast-paced environment The Nice-to-Haves - Proficiency in RDBMS such as PostgresQL or MySQL - A local Southeast Asian language proficiency - A good understanding of the risk management sector in digital ecosystems Our Commitment We are committed to building diverse teams and fostering a workplace of inclusion that allows all Grabbers to perform at their best, irrespective of nationality, ethnicity, religion, age, gender identity, sexual orientation or any factors that make each Grabber unique.
