Senior Data Analyst, Sales & Operations Job location: This position is based in our Ottawa, Canada office, and requires a minimum of 3 days a week onsite. About the team Under the guidance of the Director, Global Sales Operations, the Senior Data Analyst, Sales Operations, will prove invaluable to business stakeholders. With wide-ranging skills and extensive experience, you will design data models, develop/manage sales metrics, create dashboards, analyze sales data and provide actionable insights. What you will do - Create practical and measurable data products capable of identifying potential threats and opportunities that can influence others' work practices. - Utilize advanced BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Domo) to manage datasets and create calculated fields. Remain vigilant over sales data to guarantee its accuracy. - Develop and manage the data dictionary for sales data sets. - Collect and analyze data to proactively address problems. Simplify complex problems to facilitate understanding. - Develop all sales metrics and dashboards that the team uses for analytical purposes. - Proactively drive actionable recommendations based on data analysis to the sales operations team and sales management. - Compile and analyze data to forecast sales trends. - Analyze historical sales data to identify productivity trends and provide actionable recommendations. - Manipulate data from large/ varied sources, identify patterns and behaviors. - Explore and implement ways to improve data from source systems by adding new fields, calculations and visualizations. - Ensure the alignment of CRM (Salesforce) processes with the sales process. - Identify, gather and manage system enhancement requests for sales and collaborate with IT to implement changes. Lead system tests/UAT for sales. Proactively identify enhancement opportunities. - Superior abilities in translating high-level business requirements into functional and system requirements and joining forces with IT to build solutions and complete projects. - Full understanding of the related business functions within the portfolio to facilitate and design business intelligent reporting solutions. - Develop and maintain an accessible library of educational materials, KBA, tools, and resources. - Regularly lead data health checks in CRM (Salesforce) ensuring data cleanliness, completeness, enhancements, and accuracy. - Manage multiple projects and contribute to other analysis projects. - Collaborate closely with stakeholders across multiple business units to identify and analyze business processes, data models and user and system requirements. - Act as an advisor to sales and other teams across Kinaxis, providing coaching to a global Sales organization that drives action and change based on data insights. - Deep understanding of the theories and practices of change management to guide the sales operations team through the implementation of new practices. What we are looking for - MS or BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems - 7+ years of experience in progressively Business Intelligence/Data Analysis positions; preferably in a high-tech, global enterprise organization - Experience in creating information with BI tools like Power BI, Domo, Tableau, Cognos, and related software - Skills in advanced capabilities in SQL to analyze and troubleshoot data - Experience in working with and understanding of data models, structures, theories, principles, and practices - Strong oral and written communication skills and can translate user requirements into data technical specifications, data extracts and dashboards - Experience partnering with stakeholders across business units, recommending and creating necessary data audits to ensure accurate reporting and solutions that benefit our Sales organization - Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing based on business needs - Close attention to detail and ability to focus for extended periods. - Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver sound recommendations; advanced working knowledge of Excel - Self-starter, motivated to learn new skills, and demonstrates a proactive attitude with the ability to effectively execute end-to-end deliverables. - Must meet all security requirements of the position. Managing and tracking various types of information while maintaining it's integrity. - Requires a full working knowledge of related business functions to facilitate and design business intelligent reporting solutions.
